All students are strongly encouraged to complete their registrations before the first day of class or if absolutely necessary, to complete any changes during the first week of class (drop/add). Continuing students are encouraged to complete this objective before the end of the current semester, e.g., register for fall before spring courses end in May. Please do not encourage students to delay their registration in your class. Students who attempt to register after drop/add will not have their credit hours count in the first enrollment report to SUNY and will delay their confirmation of course enrollment.
All undergraduates are encouraged to register for at least 15 credit hours to assist them in graduating on time. Taking just the 12 hour minimum to qualify for financial aid will cause students to fall short of the credits needed to graduate. There is a 120 minimum credit hour requirement that must be fulfilled to earn a bachelor’s degree. Students who plan to graduate in four years (eight semesters) must earn at least 15 credits each semester. Degree-seeking undergraduates may take up to 19 hours in one semester if they have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
